Preston Walston is a lifelong resident of Moab, Utah, where he developed a deep appreciation for outdoor activities such as baseball, mountain biking, hiking, and rock climbing in the scenic La Sal Mountains. He and his wife enjoy spending quality time outdoors with their children.

Preston discovered his passion for entrepreneurship and real estate through mentorship from his father, brothers, and other industry professionals. He attributes much of his success to the strong support network around him. Recognized by Best Agents Magazine as Utah’s youngest Principal Broker in 2024 (a title he has held since 2022), Preston is known for his extensive knowledge of the local real estate market. He earned his degree from the prestigious Marriott School of Business at BYU, specializing in entrepreneurship through their nationally acclaimed program. During his studies, Preston was mentored by several serial real estate entrepreneurs, many of whom were influenced by renowned figures such as Trammell Crow and the early founders of Wyndham.

His academic background has equipped him with the skills to help clients find the ideal property to realize their dreams—whether in residential, nightly rentals, commercial, or development sectors. Beyond brokerage, Preston is a dedicated investor and self-described “deal junkie,” committed to understanding every facet of the real estate process.

Known for his tenacity in negotiation, Preston always prioritizes his clients' best interests. He steadfastly avoids agreeing to any contract terms that might limit his clients’ ability to negotiate effectively.

While Preston’s initial draw to real estate was his love for the industry itself, it is the relationships and connections with people that keep him engaged and motivated. When you work with Preston or any member of his team, you can expect the highest level of service and professionalism.

Preston also specializes in technology-driven property management services, supporting investors in overseeing millions of dollars in local real estate assets.

In addition to his real estate pursuits, Preston is a certified SDI Open Water Scuba Diver—a passion sparked during time spent in Mexico, where he and his wife also lived for a combined 3.5 years and became fluent Spanish speakers.

In 2024, Preston earned certification as a General Contractor—not to compete with local builders but to deepen his understanding of construction projects and better support his clients and developers throughout the brokerage process.

Preston is always eager to share the beautiful mountain biking trails and stunning real estate of the region. It’s not uncommon to receive a call or text from him while he’s out on a ride, maintaining momentum on deals even with the wind at his back.

Feel free to contact Preston via phone or text at (435) 260-3471, or email at preston@moabpremier.com.

I retired from my elementary school teaching career and I guess you could say I flunked retirement! I have a master’s degree in Instructional Design Technology and I am a National Board Certified Teacher. Since I moved to Moab in 2012 I have looked for different ways to stay active and serve in the community.

I sit on the Moonflower Market Community Co-op board of directors and I volunteer for many local events. I’m on the starting line crew for three Moab half marathons, I help park cars for the Moab Music Festival concerts, I have been a costumer’s assistant for the Moab Community Theater, I help staff the “housing” table at the Grand County middle school “Reality Town” day, I’m on the clean-up crew for holiday community dinners, and one of my favorite volunteer jobs is Salvation Army bell ringing outside of City Market during the holiday season.

Living in Moab is the perfect place for me to enjoy recreational hiking, river rafting, and skiing.

I would be honored to help you buy or sell real estate in Moab. Life in the Red Rocks is never dull with my husband and fellow real estate agent, Kevin Fitzgerald. We are blessed to be “Living the Moab Dream!” Please let me help you join our club!
I moved to Moab in 1992 and got my real estate license about a year later. I had earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah the year before at age 37, and prior to that, I had been a dairy farmer with my father on the Draper, Utah family farm I grew up on. In my over twenty years as a realtor, my favorite part of the job is meeting amazing people, many of whom I have become friends with.

I am very active in local Moab activities. I sit on the board of directors for the Grand County waste management and recycling operation, I volunteer for many local events and music festivals, and I am a member of the Moab Chamber of Commerce. I am a professional guide for the Moab Adventure Center for guided hikes in Arches National Park and for slick rock Hummer tours.

My hobbies are playing Native American flutes, drums, didgeridoo, ukulele, and many other percussions, string, and woodwind instruments. I am an avid hiker and have been since my first hike in the Moab red rocks in 1962 when I was ten years old. When the snow is here I enjoy skiing in the La Sal Mountains (“the greatest snow on Earth”) just south of Moab. Year-round, the Colorado River calls me and I kayak as often as possible. I meditate on a regular basis and connect to the universal spirit through the sounds of the Native American flutes that I play. Thank you Great Mystery!

I am living in paradise and plan to spend the rest of my life here. As your realtor, I will help you buy or sell your perfect place at the perfect time for the perfect price. Join me in Living the Moab Dream!
